QUEENSLAND
JUNIOR SKATER OF THE YEAR
2005

Congratulations to our own Pippa (Phillipa) Wan who was named Queensland Junior Skater of the Year for 2005 during the State Titles held at Runaway Bay Sports Centre on the Gold Coast.
This is the second time Pippa has been awarded this honour, the first time being in 2004.

Pippa is pictured here in a montage of poses captured as she performed her interpretation of a samba in the Creative Solo Dance event during the State Championships this year.

Pippa started skating in 1988 at the tender age of 2 years. In 1995, when she was 9, she competed in the Queensland State Championships for the first time. After another two years she competed in the Australian National Championships and has represented her state at every National Championships since.
She first qualified to skate for Australia in the Oceania Championship in 2000 but was unable to compete that year. However, she has represented Australia in that competition every year since. Also on the World stage, Pippa has represented her country in the German Cup in 2005 and 2006 and at the World Championships in 2004 and 2005.
